S.W.A.T. (2003)
S.W.A.T. (2003) is an American crime thriller film directed by Clark Johnson and written by David Ayer. Los Angeles Police Department SWAT officer Jim Street, along with partner Brian Gamble and their team, enter a seized bank where Gamble disregards orders and confronts the robbers, resulting in a hostage getting hurt. Despite successfully apprehending the criminals, they get removed from the team by Captain Fuller of the LAPD Metropolitan Division. In hopes of reinstating him, Fuller offers Street a deal to betray Gamble, but Street declines and is demoted to working at the police inventory. Thinking that Street betrayed him to stay on S.W.A.T., Gamble quits the force and ends their friendship.
After half a year, the police chief enlists help from LAPD veteran Sergeant Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson to revamp the SWAT team. Hondo becomes intrigued by Street and invites him, along with fellow officers TJ McCabe, Michael Boxer, Deacon Kaye, and Chris Sanchez, to join despite Fuller’s objections. Through their training and multiple tests, the group forms a strong bond and passes with flying colors. During their celebratory gathering, Street has a confrontation with Gamble. The team successfully completes their first mission using Street’s innovative wall-breaching battering ram to subdue an unstable gunman.
