Sabotage (2014) is an American action thriller film, directed and written by David Ayer and Skip Woods, respectively. John ‘Breacher’ Wharton leads the DEA’s Special Operations Team (DEA SOT), consisting of James ‘Monster’ Murray, his wife Lizzy, Joe ‘Grinder’ Philips, Julius ‘Sugar’ Edmonds, Eddie ‘Neck’ Jordan, Tom ‘Pyro’ Roberts, Bryce ‘Tripod’ McNeely and their colleague known as ‘Smoke’ Jennings. During a successful raid on a cartel stronghold, Smoke is tragically killed while the team secures $10 million from the cash stockpile. To cover their tracks, they destroy the rest of the building and hide the money in the sewer below. However, when the money mysteriously goes missing and their boss Floyd Demel suspends them, the team is forced to face an investigation into their supposed theft. Despite six months passing without any evidence of their involvement or confessions from any team members, they are eventually reinstated.

Atlanta Police homicide detective Caroline Brentwood and her partner Darius Jackson are assigned to the case and interview Pyro’s teammates. She notices that Neck is avoiding being questioned on purpose, so she brings Breacher along in hopes that he will be more cooperative. Based on the method of execution, Brentwood concludes that this could be the work of the cartels, causing Breacher to believe they are targeting the team for stealing their money. They also pay a visit to Tripod, who used to work for the DEA before being suspended, only to find him dead after a confrontation where he killed one of his attackers – identified by Breacher as a member of the cartel. Later on, Monster shows up at Brentwood’s doorstep, leaving her with suspicions about Breacher’s involvement.
