The Nest (2002)
The Nest (2002) is a French action/thriller movie, co-written and directed by Florent-Emilio Siri. The literal translation of the French title is Wasp’s Nest. It serves as a quasi-remake of two other films, Assault on Precinct 13 from 1976 and Rio Bravo from 1959. On Bastille Day, while most are celebrating the French national holiday, a group of thieves prepares to rob a warehouse in an industrial park. Simultaneously, Laborie, an agent in the French special forces, leads an international team guarding the notorious Albanian mafia leader, Abedin Nexhep.
He faces charges for running an extensive prostitution network in Europe. Despite heavy security measures, Nexhep’s henchmen still manage to set up an ambush. Laborie and Nexhep flee to a warehouse, where a group of criminals are in the midst of stealing computer equipment. As they confront the thieves, the Albanian mafia suddenly surrounds the building. A fierce shootout ensues, with all parties fighting for their lives.
