Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost (2019)

Scooby-Doo! and the Curse of the 13th Ghost (2019) is an American animated direct-to-video comedy mystery film produced by Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and the thirty-second entry in the direct-to-video series of Scooby-Doo films. Prior to The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, audiences are shown a prologue featuring a young Vincent Van Ghoul and his partner Mortifer sealing the final ghost into the Chest of Demons. Unfortunately, Mortifer is attacked and assumed to be killed by minion ghosts while Vincent manages to escape with a heavy heart. During the opening credits, Vincent recounts the series events where Scooby and his friends Daphne and Shaggy ultimately released all captured ghosts, with one still at large. In present day at Old Timey Toys, Mystery Inc.’s solving days come to an end after catching Farmer Morgan, who was afraid of teenagers, as well as receiving backlash from the ungrateful Sheriff for ‘criminal negligence’. Additionally, Mrs. Malvo, owner of Old Timey Toys, is seen being arrested outside for trying to intervene in a deal with Farmer Morgan.

The next day, they host a garage sale and unload various items from their previous adventures, including their beloved Mystery Machine. This leaves Fred feeling down. However, as they sift through their old possessions, they stumble upon the crystal ball used to contact Van Ghoul during their ghost-catching missions. Coincidentally, Van Ghoul reaches out to the gang with news about one last ghost. With Daphne’s explanation and unveiling of the newly named Misstery Machine, the crew embarks on a journey to meet Van Ghoul and confront this final phantom. Along the way, they are pursued by a mysterious car, but Daphne expertly evades it. Seeing her take charge only worsens Fred’s sense of purposelessness. Eventually, they arrive at Van Ghoul’s estate and are immediately attacked by the thirteenth ghost: an enormous winged demon known as Asmodeus.
