Dorothy and Sean Turner, a wealthy couple from Philadelphia, face strain in their marriage due to the loss of their thirteen-week-old son, Jericho. To help with her mental breakdown, Dorothy undergoes temporary object therapy using a lifelike reborn doll that she believes is her real child. This was the only thing that brought her out of a catatonic state after Jericho’s passing. Seeking help after six weeks, they welcome a young nanny named Leanne Grayson into their home to care for Jericho (the doll). However, as unusual events begin to occur, Sean deals with his grief alone and grows increasingly suspicious of Leanne.
