Batman: Bad Blood (2016)

Batman: Bad Blood (2016) is the 25th film of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies and the sixth installment in the DC Animated Movie Universe. It follows the events of its predecessor, Batman vs. Robin. Six months have passed since the defeat of the Court of Owls in Gotham City. Batwoman interrupts a group of criminals, including Electrocutioner, Tusk, Firefly, Killer Moth, and others. Batman quickly joins the fight. The criminals are led by ‘Heretic’, who reminds Batman of his vision with Damian Wayne as Batman. Heretic’s accomplice Onyx causes an explosion before they escape. In a heroic move, Batman saves Batwoman but seemingly dies in the blast. Two weeks later, Alfred reaches out to Nightwing for help upon receiving a distress signal. Meanwhile, Damian Wayne watches news coverage of his father’s disappearance from a monastery in the Himalayas and decides to return to Gotham to investigate further.

Kate Kane, also known as Batwoman, confides in her father Jacob about feeling guilty for Batman’s supposed demise. This stems from a traumatic event in the past where Kate’s sister and mother were taken hostage and ultimately perished while her father attempted to rescue them. Kate was the only one to survive. After serving in the military, Kate turned to heavy drinking and casual relationships until Batman rescued her from street thugs, which inspired her to become Batwoman. Recently, Robin and Kate noticed a figure resembling Batman, who they assumed was Nightwing wearing an older version of the Batsuit. They begin their own investigations into a mysterious figure known as Heretic, despite their doubts about Bruce’s death.
