Eventually, the two cross paths again in Bosnia where they team up to take on Joker and Ra’s al Ghul, who are collaborating on a scheme to acquire uranium for creating radioactive dirty bombs. While Batman manages to intervene with Ra’s al Ghul’s henchmen, Joker seizes the opportunity to kidnap Robin and viciously beats him with a crowbar before leaving him in a warehouse rigged with explosives, putting his life in grave danger.
