Batman: Death in the Family (2020)

Batman: Death in the Family (2020), released on Blu-ray on October 13, 2020, is an American animated interactive short film that serves as a spiritual sequel to Batman: Under the Red Hood. It offers alternate outcomes to the original storyline and allows viewers to make choices within the film. Concerned about Jason Todd’s increasingly aggressive behavior as Robin, Batman makes the decision to temporarily suspend him from active duty. This causes Jason to feel resentful towards Batman and he ultimately chooses to leave Gotham City. Eventually, the two cross paths again in Bosnia where they team up to take on Joker and Ra’s al Ghul, who are collaborating on a scheme to acquire uranium for creating radioactive dirty bombs. While Batman manages to intervene with Ra’s al Ghul’s henchmen, Joker seizes the opportunity to kidnap Robin and viciously beats him with a crowbar before leaving him in a warehouse rigged with explosives, putting his life in grave danger.
