Batman: Hush (2019), an animated superhero film, showcases the iconic DC Comics character, Batman. Based loosely on the popular 2002 comic book story arc of the same name, it is the thirteenth movie in the DC Animated Movie Universe. After saving a kidnapped child from Bane’s clutches and retrieving a ransom, Lady Shiva alerts Batman to an unexpected intruder at the Lazarus Pit and asks for his assistance in identifying them. Eager to help, Batman agrees, but during a confrontation with Catwoman who has stolen the ransom money, he is shot by a mysterious vigilante. He falls to the ground and sustains a head injury, but luckily Catwoman steps in to save him from criminals attempting to unmask him. However, Batgirl chases her away before taking Batman back to the Batcave where Alfred and Dick Grayson come up with an excuse for Bruce Wayne’s injury. Seeking medical help from his childhood friend Thomas Elliot, a renowned brain surgeon, Bruce returns to his role as Batman against Thomas’s advice after just two weeks of recovery time. In preparation for his return, Alfred provides him with a new bulletproof batsuit featuring additional padding around the cowl for extra skull protection.
Meanwhile, Catwoman hands over the ransom to Poison Ivy, who has been manipulating her with a hypnotic kiss. The individual who shot Batman soon arrives to confront Ivy for the payment and gives her Kryptonite. Afterwards, Batman assists Amanda Waller in retrieving Bane from police custody by trading information. Utilizing the specialized tranquilizers provided by him, Waller successfully prevents Bane from escaping and captures him herself. Eventually, Batman joins forces with Catwoman- albeit begrudgingly- as they follow a lead given by her to Metropolis. There, he faces probationary Justice League member Lex Luthor regarding the delivery list of an ethylene compound being utilized by Ivy. Utilizing Kryptonite lipstick, Ivy controls Superman and orders him to eliminate both Catwoman and Batman.
