Catwoman: Hunted (2022)

Catwoman: Hunted (2022), an American animated superhero film based on the DC Comics character Catwoman by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, and produced by Warner Bros. Animation for DC Entertainment, is the 47th installment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line. Our feline protagonist infiltrates a costume party in Spain hosted by Barbara Minerva, attended by Gotham City mobster Black Mask who aims to join Minerva’s crime organization, Leviathan. In exchange for entry, Black Mask offers up the Cat’s Eye Emerald. Naturally, Catwoman seizes the opportunity and makes off with the precious gem while evading her pursuers in a thrilling car chase. However, her luck runs out when Batwoman crosses her path, causing a crash that allows Minerva’s associate Tobias Whale to reclaim the emerald and seek revenge against Catwoman. As punishment for her theft, Minerva puts out a hit on our heroine. But fate has other plans as Catwoman wakes up on a jet bound for Shanghai under the custody of Batwoman and Interpol agents Julia Pennyworth and King Faraday. They reveal that the emerald was actually rigged as a tracking device to take down Leviathan’s entire leadership with one swift strike.

Instead of repeating herself, Catwoman secures full amnesty for her past actions by cooperating with her colleagues. During this time, she reaches out to her friend Holly via phone to check on a group of girls she cares for. Once they locate the girls’ whereabouts, Catwoman enlists the help of Batwoman to infiltrate the meeting place, but are met with hired assassins Cheshire and Nosferata. This battle also involves top bosses from Leviathan such as Black Mask, Doctor Tzin-Tzin, Mister Yakuza, La Dama, and their demonic allies Abbadon and Morax, along with Moxie Mannheim. Despite some struggles, they manage to defeat and apprehend the cartel bosses and Whale while Minerva escapes. With her pardon in hand, Catwoman walks away without concern for Minerva’s potential threat. However, despite her continued activity as a vigilante, she is constantly pursued by ninjas from the League of Assassins under Talia al Ghul’s direction – who is revealed to be the true leader of Leviathan. After Batwoman aids in defeating a group of assassins sent by Minerva in Paris, she unleashes Solomon Grundy as their next obstacle.
