An animated short film, DC Showcase: Green Arrow (2010), directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and written by Greg Weisman, stars Neal McDonough as the titular character. In this installment, Green Arrow must protect a young princess at an airport. The film was released on September 28, 2010 as a bonus feature on the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse DVD and is the third in the DC Showcase series. It has also been included in an extended version on the compilation DVD DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection. According to Weisman, this event is connected to his series Young Justice and falls within its continuity.

Oliver Queen is at Star City international airport, eagerly awaiting his girlfriend Dinah’s arrival. However, traffic is backed up due to the arrival of Princess Perdita. Count Vertigo has hired the assassin known as Merlyn to eliminate Perdita, who happens to be his own niece. Perdita’s father was recently assassinated by Vertigo, and she is set to take over as queen of Vlatava. Green Arrow, Queen’s alter ego, springs into action when he learns of Merlyn’s plan. He takes down several henchmen before securing Perdita’s safety. Inevitably, a showdown with Merlyn ensues and Green Arrow emerges victorious. But their troubles are not over yet, as Count Vertigo makes an appearance and attacks both Green Arrow and Perdita. They are both incapacitated until Black Canary (revealed to be Dinah) arrives on the scene.
