Iron Man 3 (2013)

Based on the Marvel Comics character, Iron Man 3 (2013) is an American superhero film, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. During a New Year’s Eve celebration in 1999, Tony Stark encounters scientist Maya Hansen and her revolutionary treatment called Extremis. However, Stark declines an offer to join scientist Aldrich Killian’s Advanced Idea Mechanics company. Thirteen years later, Stark struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder and insomnia brought on by his involvement in the invasion of New York. In an attempt to cope, he creates many new Iron Man suits but this causes tension with his girlfriend Pepper Potts. Meanwhile, a terrorist known as the Mandarin claims responsibility for a series of bombings.

When one of the attacks leaves Stark’s security chief Happy Hogan in a coma, Stark issues a televised threat to the Mandarin where he also shares his home address. The Mandarin’s gunship helicopters destroy Stark’s home. Hansen, who came to warn him, survives the attack along with Potts. Using an experimental Iron Man suit and guidance from his artificial intelligence J.A.R.V.I.S., Stark heads to rural Tennessee following his investigation into the Mandarin. Unfortunately, the new armor is not fully functional and lacks sufficient power for Stark to return to Malibu, leading everyone to believe he is dead. However, with the help of Harley Keener, a local boy, Stark examines the remnants of a previous explosion that bears similarities to a Mandarin attack.
