Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths (2010), an American animated superhero film directed by Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu with writing from Dwayne McDuffie, tells the story of an alternate universe where a heroic version of Lex Luthor and Joker, known as the Jester, steal the ‘Quantum Trigger’ device from the Crime Syndicate’s headquarters. In order to allow Luthor to escape, the Jester sacrifices himself when an alarm goes off. Luthor successfully flees to the Justice League’s Earth using a device for interdimensional travel. Upon discovering that Luthor is from a parallel universe due to his reversed organs detected by Superman’s X-ray vision at a prison visit, the Justice League brings him to their Watchtower base where they learn of the Syndicate’s threat. While debating their course of action, Luthor secretly hides the Quantum Trigger on the satellite before joining forces with Batman and sending the rest of the Justice League on a mission to his own Earth.
Upon arriving, the heroes immediately launch an attack on their Syndicate targets. After a series of successful raids, they manage to capture Ultraman. However, their confrontation with President Slade Wilson reveals that releasing Ultraman is necessary to prevent the loss of millions of lives. Much to everyone’s surprise, Martian Manhunter falls in love with President Wilson’s daughter, Rose. While the Justice League is on the Watchtower, Superwoman and her lieutenants appear and engage in battle with them, including Batman. Although they escape with the Quantum Trigger, Batman pursues them and engages Superwoman in combat on the Syndicate’s Earth, ultimately capturing her. With Rose’s help, the League discovers the location of the Syndicate’s base and prepares to face them head on. Finally arriving at their moon base with Superwoman in tow, the League engages in a climactic battle against their adversaries.
