Justice League: Gods and Monsters (2015)

Justice League: Gods and Monsters (2015) is an American animated superhero film that belongs to the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series. The movie presents a unique version of the popular DC Comics superhero group, the Justice League. In this alternate universe, the team consists of Batman (Dr. Kirk Langstrom), Wonder Woman (Bekka), and Superman (Hernan Guerra, son of General Zod). Unlike their traditional counterparts, this group operates as a ruthless enforcer of order on Earth, eliciting mixed reactions from the public – a mixture of both admiration and animosity. During their reign, three scientists – Victor Fries, Ray Palmer, and Silas Stone – get killed in ways similar to those used by the Justice League. In light of these incidents, President Amanda Waller requests their assistance in the government’s investigation. Speaking of Superman’s motivations and his limited knowledge about Krypton or his origins, he takes Lois Lane to the Tower of Justice to share his plans for humanity.

After discovering an email pertaining to ‘Project Fair Play’, Batman turns to his colleague Dr. Will Magnus for insights. Magnus, along with his wife Tina, promises to consult with the other scientists involved in the project: John Henry Irons, Thomas Morrow, Michael Holt, Pat Dugan, Emil Hamilton, Karen Beecher, Thaddeus Sivana, Kimiyo Hoshi, and Stephen Shin. However, their discussion is rudely interrupted by a sudden attack from three robot assassins who use a Boom tube for transportation. Despite their valiant efforts, only Magnus survives the attack. The rest of the League takes him to the Tower for recovery while Superman goes after Lex Luthor’s satellite orbiting the Moon. There, Luthor unveils that ‘Project Fair Play’ was actually designed as a means to eliminate the League should the need arise; he also reveals vital information about Zod that Superman was previously unaware of.
