Justice League vs the Fatal Five (2019)

An animated superhero film, Justice League vs. the Fatal Five (2019), was created by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. It is the 35th installment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series and features the popular comic book team Justice League, originally created by Gardner Fox. The story takes place in both the 31st and 21st centuries, when three members of the Fatal Five – Mano, Tharok, and Persuader – attack the headquarters of the Legion of Super-Heroes to steal their time sphere. Despite efforts from Star Boy, Saturn Girl, and Brainiac 5 to stop them, the villains successfully activate the sphere and travel through time. However, a trap set by Brainiac 5 causes them to be stuck in a stasis field upon arrival in present-day Gotham City. Meanwhile, Star Boy’s rough landing destroys his vital medicine for stabilizing his mind which is not available in this time period. As a result, he starts acting erratically and is eventually apprehended by Batman and sent to Arkham Asylum. Superman discovers the stasis-locked time machine and brings it back to Justice League headquarters for examination.

Ten months later, Jessica Cruz is struggling with the trauma of her near-death experience at the hands of a murderer who also took the lives of her friends. This has left her with a paralyzing fear of leaving her apartment. Along with this constant source of anxiety, Jessica has recently been chosen by a Green Lantern ring and is being relentlessly pursued by Wonder Woman to join the Justice League. Meanwhile, in Gotham, Miss Martian is trying to prove herself worthy of membership in the League to Batman. However, her lack of experience seems to be working against her good intentions. As Mister Terrific works on unlocking the secrets of a mysterious sphere, his actions accidentally deactivate the stasis field holding its occupants captive. A fierce battle ensues between Superman and Mister Terrific against their enemies, but unfortunately Superman falls victim to Persuader’s axe and the villains are able to escape.
