Legion of Super-Heroes (2023)

Legion of Super-Heroes (2023) is an American animated superhero film distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The 6th addition to the Tomorrowverse and the 49th installment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line, this film follows the journey of Alura Zor-El from Argo City on Krypton as she prepares for a predicted disaster that will destroy her planet. In a race against time, Alura sends her daughter Kara to Earth to reunite with her cousin Kal-El in his own escape ship. However, due to a fragment of the exploding planet damaging her pod, Kara arrives on Earth later than planned, putting her into suspended animation. Once awakened and now named Supergirl, she struggles to adapt to life on Earth and master her new superpowers. During a battle with Solomon Grundy, she is rescued by Superman (formerly known as Kal-El) and Batman after spotting suspicious figures nearby.

Upon Kal-El’s suggestion, Kara is advised to journey to the 31st century and join the Legion Academy, a prestigious training institution for potential members of the renowned Legion of Super-Heroes. While tasked with protecting S.T.A.R. Labs in the current era, Batman encounters a group of masked intruders who take their own lives before he can interrogate them. After traveling through time, Kara is welcomed to the Academy by Mon-El, one of its students. However, due to a case of mistaken identity between Brainiac and his infamous relative Brainiac 5, Kara engages in an impromptu brawl with him. Though the situation is resolved and Brainiac 5’s true intentions are revealed, his heritage causes distrust among his peers. Initially at odds with one another, Kara and Brainiac 5 gradually develop a deep connection that ultimately transforms into a romantic relationship. One night, while searching for Proty (the school’s pet), Triplicate Girl witnesses Mon-El behaving suspiciously near a forbidden high-security vault on campus before being attacked and seemingly killed.
