Scooby-Doo in Where's My Mummy? (2005)

Scooby-Doo in Where’s My Mummy? (2005) is an American animated adventure film, and the ninth in a series of direct-to-video animated films based on the Scooby-Doo Saturday morning cartoons. In 41 B.C., Cleopatra flees from the Roman Army after her navy’s defeat at the Battle of Actium and her army’s decimation and desertion at the Battle of Alexandria. Seeking refuge, she hides her treasure beneath the Sphinx and casts a protective spell over it. Centuries later, while restoring the Sphinx, Velma discovers an ancient necklace and shows it to Prince Omar, who is leading the restoration project. Together, they uncover Cleopatra’s tomb. Meanwhile, after six months apart, the gang surprises Velma by traveling to Egypt. However, their Mystery Machine runs out of water in the middle of the desert. In search for water, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy stumble upon what appears to be a lake but turns out to be a mirage.

The gang encounters an Egyptian named Amahl Ali Akbar and his hawk Horus, who use camels to tow the Mystery Machine and transport the group to the Sphinx. There they meet former ‘Fear Facers’ host, Rock Rivers, whose show was recently canceled for falsifying footage. He explains that he is in Egypt investigating a curse. Scooby’s ‘old nose radar’ leads them to Velma, who is surprised yet overjoyed by her friends’ arrival. Daphne notices something around Velma’s neck and she reveals an ancient necklace she found. Introducing them to Omar, Velma shares details about the curse. Suddenly, a swarm of dirt bikes and helicopters surround them. Archeologist and treasure hunter, Dr. Amelia Von Butch, emerges from one of the helicopters and heads towards the tomb. Despite Velma and Omar’s pleas to stay away due to the curse which promises to turn anyone who enters into stone, Von Butch proceeds forward with determination.
