Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire (2012) is a hilarious horror musical that was released straight to DVD. It is the seventeenth film in the popular Scooby-Doo series. After a long time solving mysteries, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby decide it’s time for a much-needed vacation. They travel to Petit Chauve Sourie Ville, a small town in Louisiana that is famous for its vampire festival called ‘Vampire Palooza’. The gang meets Lita Rutland, the organizing committee’s head who tells them about the financial struggles they are facing due to low tourism numbers. Their host for the trip is Vincent Van Helsing – an author and descendant of Abraham Van Helsing. However, his books aren’t selling well. To make things worse, mayoral candidate Jesper Poubelle holds anti-vampire views and has been causing problems at the festival. Vincent takes them to his museum and shows them ancient vampire artifacts such as a book detailing vampire traditions, a jeweled necklace and tiara said to have belonged to a vampire bride, and a glass casket containing Lord Valdronya – a centuries-old vampire who appears lifeless.
Van Helsing and the gang attend a night performance by a troupe of dedicated vampire actors. The group is led by Bram, who catches the eye of Daphne. During the show, Bram announces a vampire resurrection ritual, which surprises everyone when it turns out to be successful. A member of the group appears on stage, but they are not alone for long as Valdronya also makes an appearance before flying away. Upon returning to the museum, they discover that the body and bridal jewellery are missing from the sealed tomb. As they investigate further, they come across Lita Rutland and Mayor Poubelle using the vampire appearance for their own benefit in terms of publicity and media exposure.
