Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998)

Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998), an American animated film based on the popular franchise, follows Mystery, Inc. as they embark on a new adventure. Tired of constantly unmasking human culprits, the group has split up and pursued other interests. Daphne Blake and Fred Jones have found success with a television series focused on hunting down real ghosts. Meanwhile, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and Scooby-Doo are brought back together when Fred reaches out for Daphne’s birthday celebration. Determined to find authentic supernatural entities for her show, the gang travels across the country and eventually arrives at Moonscar Island in New Orleans. Despite their doubts about Lena Dupree’s claims of hauntings on the island, they decide to pay her a visit.

During their time on the island, they encounter a variety of interesting and mysterious individuals. There is Jacques, the ferryman who transports them to the island. They also meet Simone Lenoir, Lena’s employer, who resides in an impressive mansion situated on a pepper plantation. And let’s not forget about Beau, Simone’s gardener. However, things take a turn when Shaggy and Scooby encounter Moonscar’s ghost, which soon transforms into a zombie. Despite receiving multiple warnings to leave from ghostly sources, they decide to stay overnight, still maintaining their skeptical nature. But their decision comes back to haunt them when they are chased by a horde of zombies that night. Velma suspects Beau, while Fred and Daphne capture one of the zombies, thinking it is actually a person in disguise. However, upon pulling its head off, they discover that the zombies are real and not just people pretending to be them. In the chaos of being pursued by the zombie horde, the gang gets separated and Daphne accidentally causes Fred to lose his video camera in quicksand – meaning they have lost valuable footage for their show.
