Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island (2019)

Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island (2019) is an animated mystery film from Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Serving as the thirty-third installment in the direct-to-video series, it is a sequel to the first Scooby-Doo direct-to-video movie, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, released in 1998. In this adventure, the gang works together to catch various monsters, including Young Man Withers, who turns out to be a member of the Withers family. After a wild dream sequence involving the Mystery Machine going backwards, Fred discovers that he has sold their van and retired from mystery solving. However, after seeing a news report and being offered a tropical vacation by Elvira on TV, Fred decides to come out of retirement. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby have grown tired of always being taken for granted and make Fred, Daphne, and Velma promise never to solve another mystery again. The group then sets off on their vacation with excitement and confusion over Shaggy winning a trip they can’t remember entering.

As they make their way to the island on the ferry, Fred, Daphne, and Velma keep their promise while Shaggy and Scooby take some time to relax. Upon arrival, two greeters try to scare the gang away with a ‘Get Out’ warning, but the gang simply ignores them as they pile into a van and head towards the resort. The greeters mutter ‘Tourists…’ in an annoyed tone as they watch the van drive off. However, their journey is soon interrupted when a mysterious figure slashes a palm tree, blocking their path. With no other option, the gang continues on foot while the van driver stays behind to fix his vehicle. As they reach Moonstar Island Resort, memories of their previous adventure on Moonscar Island flood back – where they encountered zombies and Cat Creatures. Inside the resort, they are greeted by Alan, the Hotel Manager, and his staff – Mona, Linda, Jack, and Bugbite Stubbs – who bear a striking resemblance to characters from their past case.
