Scooby-Doo: The Movie (2002) is an American fantasy adventure comedy film based on the beloved animated franchise of the same name, and produced by Mosaic Media Group. After defeating the Luna Ghost at a toy factory, tensions within Mystery, Inc. cause Fred, Daphne, and Velma to part ways. With their trusty van, the Mystery Machine, in their care, Scooby and Shaggy are left to manage on their own. However, two years later they receive an invitation from Emile Mondavarious, the owner of ‘Spooky Island’, a horror-themed tropical resort. He believes that something sinister is happening on his island and asks for their assistance in solving the mystery.
While Shaggy and Scooby have high hopes for reuniting the gang, Velma, Fred and Daphne each have their own determination to solve the mystery. Velma attends a performance by actor N’Goo Tuana and his accomplice, famous wrestler Zarkos, who claim that vengeful ancient demons once ruled the island and are seeking retribution for being displaced by the resort. Meanwhile, Shaggy develops feelings for Mary Jane, who unfortunately has a severe dog allergy, causing a rift between him and Scooby. Eventually, the group ends up at the haunted house ride on the resort grounds. Despite some initial disagreements between Fred, Daphne, and Velma, they eventually agree to set their differences aside and work together in order to effectively search for clues.
