Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics (1977–1979), produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, graced the Saturday morning airwaves on ABC from September 10, 1977 to September 2, 1978. It showcased five beloved Hanna-Barbera series: The Scooby-Doo Show, Laff-A-Lympics, The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, and reruns of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!. In its second season (1978-79), the show was renamed as Scooby’s All-Stars and aired on ABC from September 9 to October 28. However, the runtime was shortened to 90 minutes by omitting The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!.
During the second season, beginning on September 9, 1978, the show changed to Scooby’s All-Stars. This meant that The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! segments were no longer shown. In their place, two Captain Caveman segments aired instead of one. The block also featured eight new Laff-A-Lympics and eight new Captain Caveman episodes in 1978-1979. Although the Scooby-Doo Show initially aired reruns throughout the season, starting from November 11, seven new episodes (originally produced for a planned revival of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! as a separate half-hour show) were included in Scooby’s All-Stars. However, for the following season (1979-1980), the block was cancelled and Scooby-Doo became a standalone half-hour show called Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo. Later in the season (1980), Laff-A-Lympics and Captain Caveman returned to ABC.
