Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog (2021) is an American animated comedy film from Warner Bros. Animation, and marks the thirty-sixth installment in the direct-to-video Scooby-Doo series. During the unmasking of a bank-robbing clown, both Scooby-Doo and Courage experience a strange noise, causing them to dance and flee. However, their companions Muriel and Eustace Bagge seem unaware. The group follows Scooby into Nowhere, where they encounter hostile cicadas. After defeating them, they are invited into the Bagge household to meet Muriel and Eustace. The Mayor of Nowhere invites both groups to dinner, but along the way, Scooby and Courage are attacked by a giant Cicada Queen, damaging Eustace’s truck. Upon arriving at the Mayor’s mansion, he offers them a tour of an attached museum that showcases Nowhere’s bizarre history of attracting oddities. While Scooby, Shaggy, and Courage search for food, Eustace heads back to his residence to get rid of their unwelcome visitor.

The Cicada Queen and her brood launch an unexpected strike, sending Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Muriel tumbling into a hidden cave. They stumble upon a peculiar contraption that spews out cellphone calls at random. With Scooby, Shaggy, and Courage’s help, the group manages to disable the machine while fleeing from the Cicada Queen’s wrath. As they make their way back to the Bagge residence to unravel the mystery, the vicious insect strikes again. This time, most of them are captured, leaving only Scooby and Courage behind. To uncover the truth behind the mysterious cicada sightings and other strange occurrences tracked by Courage, they plug Velma’s personal tablet into Courage’s computer. That’s when they make a startling discovery – everything is connected to a dark matter meteor buried beneath the Bagge house.
