Superman vs. The Elite (2012)

Superman vs. The Elite (2012), an American animated superhero film based on the comic book story What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?, marks the 14th installment of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies. As Atomic Skull wreaks havoc in Metropolis, Superman intervenes and overpowers him before he could cause further harm. However, as questions arise about property damage and fatalities during their confrontation, Superman delivers a powerful speech that emphasizes both the dangers of lawlessness and the potential for good within everyone. Just then, Bialya and Pokolistan’s leaders interrupt with accusations against each other for breaking a peace treaty and declare war. While in Bialya, Superman witnesses the deployment of a Pokolistani bio-weapon that devastates most of the Bialyan military. In an attempt to save them, Superman is joined by The Elite who assist in destroying the bio-weapon.

The Elite is made up of Manchester Black, a powerful British telepath and telekinetic; Coldcast, who can emit large amounts of electrical energy; Menagerie, a woman symbiotically bonded with demonic beasts; and Hat, a magician whose fedora grants him abilities. Upon returning to Metropolis, Superman updates the city on the situation with the Elite and joins them in rescuing civilians from a subway train attack. However, when Manchester tries to interrogate the terrorists violently, Superman begins to question the group’s intentions. In a broadcast to the planet, Manchester declares that the Elite will now deal with villains using lethal force.
