The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (1976 — 1978)

Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1976 for ABC Saturday mornings, The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (1976–1978) was a 60-minute package show. It made its debut on September 11, 1976. Later, an additional 30 minutes were added to the series (due to repeats of the first two CBS seasons of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!), making it the Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Show for nine months from December 4, 1976 to September 3, 1977. Like many animated shows from Hanna-Barbera in the ’70s, this one also included a laugh track created by the studio.

With Willie the Weasel’s new formula, he can transform into the notorious Mr. Hyde. Along their pursuit of this elusive villain, the Blue Falcon and Dynomutt encounter the Mystery Inc. gang and Scooby-Doo. Unaware of Mr. Hyde’s true identity, they join forces in classic The New Scooby-Doo Movies style. Together, they must stop Mr. Hyde from turning the entire city into clones of himself and becoming Mayor by force. Thanks to a clue found by Fred and the gang (revealed to be Willie’s glove), the Blue Falcon deduces that Willie is indeed Mr. Hyde. In a clever ruse, they have him proclaimed Mayor and allow him to lead them to his hideout, where they hope to find an antidote for his transformation formula. Despite assistance from his partner ‘Snitch’, Willie manages to escape as the Blue Falcon and Dynomutt race off to the Mayor’s mansion in a bid to prevent Mr. Hyde from retrieving his stolen loot once more.
