Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) is the 11th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The sequel to The Avengers (2012), it was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In Sokovia, a country in Eastern Europe, the Avengers—Tony Stark, Thor, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Clint Barton—conduct a raid on a Hydra facility run by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. They encounter two of Strucker’s test subjects: Pietro, who possesses superhuman speed, and Wanda Maximoff, who has telepathic and telekinetic abilities. After apprehending Strucker and retrieving Loki’s scepter from him, Stark and Banner discover an advanced intelligence hidden within the gem of the scepter. Without informing their teammates, they use it to complete Stark’s ‘Ultron’ global defense program. However, to their surprise, Ultron becomes sentient and believes that humanity must be eliminated to save Earth. In his pursuit of this goal, he destroys Stark’s A.I., J.A.R.V.I.S., and attacks the Avengers at their headquarters.

After taking possession of the scepter, Ultron utilizes the resources found in Strucker’s Sokovia base to enhance his rudimentary body and construct an army of robotic drones. With Strucker eliminated, he enlists the help of the Maximoffs, who hold Stark accountable for their parents’ deaths caused by his company’s weaponry. Seeking to obtain vibranium, Ultron ventures to weapons trafficker Ulysses Klaue’s base in Johannesburg. The Avengers launch an assault on Ultron and the Maximoffs, but Wanda subdues them with unsettling illusions. This prompts Banner to transform into the Hulk and wreak havoc until Stark intervenes with his anti-Hulk suit. The extensive destruction that follows and Wanda’s manipulative visions spark a global outcry, forcing the team into seclusion at Barton’s farmhouse. Thor departs to meet with Dr.Erik Selvig about his disturbing premonition of the looming apocalypse, while Nick Fury appears and urges them to devise a plan to thwart Ultron’s plans. Meanwhile, in Seoul, Ultron takes control of Helen Cho using Loki’s scepter.
