Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther (2018), an American superhero film, is the 18th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it tells the story of a meteorite containing vibranium that caused conflict among five African tribes centuries ago. The power of this metal was harnessed by one warrior who consumed a ‘heart-shaped herb,’ giving him incredible abilities and earning him the title of ‘Black Panther.’ This leader united all tribes except for the Jabari to form Wakanda, where they used vibranium to advance technologically and remain hidden from the outside world. In 1992, King T’Chaka traveled to Oakland to confront his brother N’Jobu for assisting arms dealer Ulysses Klaue in stealing vibranium from Wakanda. The suspicions were confirmed by N’Jobu’s partner Zuri, who was also undercover at the time.

In the present day, after T’Chaka’s passing, his son T’Challa returns to Wakanda to take over as king. With Okoye, leader of the Dora Milaje, by his side, T’Challa interrupts Nakia’s undercover mission so she can join him, along with his mother Ramonda and younger sister Shuri, for his coronation ceremony. The Jabari Tribe’s chief M’Baku challenges T’Challa in a traditional combat for the throne. Despite initial resistance, T’Challa defeats M’Baku and convinces him to surrender instead of facing death. Meanwhile, when Klaue and his associate Erik Stevens steal a precious Wakandan artifact from a museum in London, W’Kabi (Okoye’s husband) encourages T’Challa to bring Klaue back alive. To do so, T’Challa, Okoye, and Nakia travel to Busan in South Korea where Klaue plans to sell the artifact to CIA agent Everett K. Ross.
