Captain America: Civil War (2016), a superhero film from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, follows the events of the first two Captain America movies. As political leaders question the actions of heroes like Captain America and Iron Man, the two find themselves on opposite sides. Tony Stark believes in regulation, while Steve Rogers disagrees. This disagreement leads to a rift within their team, The Avengers. At a United Nations meeting to discuss regulation, an explosion kills several individuals, including T’Chaka, King of Wakanda. The investigation reveals that Bucky Barnes (aka the Winter Soldier), a friend of Captain America during World War II, planted the bomb. Now everyone is out to capture or kill Barnes, but Steve wants to help his old friend. As they search for him, another figure dressed in black joins the action.
After security forces apprehend them, the individual in black is revealed to be T’Challa, son of the Wakandan King and also known as the powerful Black Panther. A psychiatrist is then assigned to evaluate Bucky, but during the assessment, a power outage causes him to utter some impactful words. Seizing the opportunity, he escapes and Steve attempts to capture him. But Steve believes in Bucky’s innocence and sets out to find the person who influenced him. Soon after, Tony learns of Steve’s actions and includes him on the wanted list. Desperate for help, Tony enlists War Machine and Black Widow to join his team. Meanwhile, Steve recruits someone else for his mission while Black Widow brings T’Challa into their alliance. As they embark on their respective pursuits, Falcon brings Ant Man along and Steve calls upon Hawkeye who brings Wanda with him – although she is being closely monitored by Vision under Tony’s orders.
