Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) is a 2014 superhero film based on the titular Marvel Comics team. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 10th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 1988, Peter Quill is taken from Earth by the Ravagers, a group of alien thieves led by Yondu Udonta, following his mother’s passing. Flash forward to 2014 on Morag, where Quill retrieves a mysterious Orb and faces off against Korath and his fanatical Kree cohorts, with Ronan at the helm. After escaping with the Orb, Yondu discovers Quill’s transgression and puts out a bounty for him while Ronan dispatches Gamora to retrieve it. Attempting to sell it on Xandar, capital of the Nova Empire, Gamora ambushes Quill and takes possession of it. A skirmish ensues, bringing in two bounty hunters: Rocket, a genetically and technologically enhanced raccoon, and Groot, a humanoid made of tree-like material.

After the Nova Corps officers apprehend and confine the four individuals, including Drax the Destroyer, who blames Gamora for her connection to Ronan, responsible for killing his loved ones, Quill manages to persuade him to trust Gamora’s ability to bring Ronan to justice. However, she reveals that she has actually turned against Ronan and refuses to let him harness the power of the Orb. As they find out that Gamora plans to sell the Orb to Taneleer Tivan, also known as The Collector, Quill’s team, consisting of Rocket, Groot, and Drax, join forces with her and flee from Kyln on Quill’s ship called the Milano. Meanwhile, Ronan meets with Gamora’s adoptive father Thanos to discuss her disloyalty. While Drax is inebriated, he summons Ronan while the rest of the group rendezvous with Tivan at Knowhere, an outlaw haven.
