Hawkeye (2021)

Hawkeye (2021), an American miniseries on Disney+, is based on the popular Marvel Comics featuring Clint Barton / Hawkeye and Kate Bishop / Hawkeye. This fifth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), produced by Marvel Studios, continues in the same universe as the franchise’s films, following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019). In April 2019, it was announced that Marvel Studios was developing a limited series for Disney+, with Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Hawkeye. The series was officially revealed in July of that year and Jonathan Igla joined as creator in September. It was also rumored that Hailee Steinfeld would be joining the cast at this time. Directors Amber Finlayson, Katie Ellwood, and Rhys Thomas came on board in July 2020 and filming began in New York City that December. In late April 2021, production wrapped after some additional shooting took place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Clint Barton, a former Avenger, has a simple goal: to reunite with his family for Christmas. But with the help of 22-year-old archer Kate Bishop, who aspires to be a Super Hero, their mission may not be so straightforward. They must team up when someone from Barton’s past resurfaces and threatens more than just holiday cheer. After confronting his past in Avengers: Endgame, Barton will pass on the Hawkeye mantle to Bishop, a fresh face in the superhero world who finds herself at the center of a plot to take down Hawkeye once and for all. In the shadows of New York City, these two archers must uncover the identity of their new enemy in order to prevent a catastrophic event. Set after Avengers: Endgame during Christmas time in New York, all Barton wants is to celebrate with his loved ones. However, after joining forces with Bishop, they become entangled in a murder investigation, underground crime rings, and an even bigger threat looming over the city.
