Warner Bros. Animation presents Scooby-Doo! Ghastly Goals (2014), the fifth direct-to-DVD special based on the beloved Scooby-Doo Saturday morning cartoons. In Rio, Brazil, the gang joins in on a festive parade to kick off the International Soccer Cup. But when Scooby stumbles upon a missing soccer ball and a terrifying red monster, chaos ensues and parade floats get destroyed. With his quick thinking, Scooby uses the soccer ball to defeat the monster. The excitement continues as the monster disappears and police arrive to secure the area. Later on, some young fans of Scooby-Doo approach Shaggy and Scooby for an autograph and their missing ball back.
Velma identifies the creature as ‘Eshu’, a mischievous figure. Fred assures the group that they will recover their autographed ball and they turn to Julio Luna, the games’ director, for assistance. He informs them that all the soccer balls from the parade have been brought back to the stadium, including their missing one. With some sneaky maneuvers, the gang locates the room where all the equipment is kept. However, Eshu appears once again and chases after Shaggy and Scooby until a security guard interrupts with an alarm. The elusive monster escapes in a cloud of dust and Fred deduces that Eshu must also be searching for the same prized ball. The next day, they return to the alley where Scooby first encountered Eshu and Daphne discovers a broken test tube with Professor Eduardo Perez’s name on it.
