Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

An American superhero film, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. In a barren desert, Gorr and his daughter, Love, struggle amidst their prayers to Rapu – their god. Despite their pleas, Love perishes and the Necrosword tempts Gorr with its power. In a fit of vengeance, he renounces Rapu and kills him with the sword before vowing to destroy all gods. However, this comes at a cost as Gorr becomes cursed by the sword’s influence with impending death and corruption. As he continues to eliminate more gods, Thor learns of Sif’s distress signal and leaves the Guardians of the Galaxy to aid her. Meanwhile, Jane Foster – Thor’s ex-girlfriend – is battling stage four terminal cancer and seeks out Mjolnir in New Asgard for potential healing. Surprisingly, Mjolnir refrains itself thanks to an enchantment that Thor had cast years ago for Foster’s protection. Now bonded with Foster, Mjolnir grants her similar abilities to wield it as Thor once did.

Arriving in New Asgard during the onset of Gorr’s attack, Thor is taken aback to see Foster wielding Mjolnir. Together with Valkyrie and Korg, they join forces to fend off Gorr’s rampage. Although the group successfully stops Gorr, he manages to flee and abduct several young Asgardians, trapping them in the Shadow Realm. Inheriting the powers of his late father Heimdall, Axl reaches out to Thor for aid in locating the missing children. Venturing to Omnipotence City, they seek assistance from Zeus and the other gods in assembling an army against Gorr. However, Zeus is hesitant and fearful of Gorr, refusing to lend their support and insisting on staying hidden within the safety of their city. To prevent them from revealing its location to Gorr, Zeus orders their capture but ends up injuring Korg. This prompts Thor to use Zeus’ own thunderbolt against him while Valkyrie makes off with it before they make a daring escape. Amidst their journey, Thor and Foster rekindle their romantic connection and she confides in him about her illness.
